Study II
(Sound) Texture and Overtones
Author’s Note
Dear Reader,
As the end of the year approaches, my deep gratitude goes out to you for your participation in the creative dynamic we share. Your encouragement, even when presented with imperfect or challenging work, helps me continue to create, take risks, and trust my expression will be received and appreciated. You ‘get it,’ and that’s all someone like me can hope for in this pursuit.
I look forward to the coming year. Despite the challenges and changes we continue to face domestically and globally, creating and sharing my work with you helps keep me hopeful, sharp, and focused on progress. It helps me move forward. I hope you’re finding similar outlets in your personal and creative life and wish you and your loved ones safety, joy, and love in abundance. We are in this together.
I will take a couple weeks off for the holidays but plan to return Sunday, January 11th, 2026, and will begin publishing poetry, fiction, and the occasional sound study on Sundays at 6 AM UTC/10 PM PT. As a final offering for the year, below you’ll find Study II. It’s a textural experiment for processed alto saxophone.
Love eternal,
Annie

You are gifted Annie. See you on the other side. Best wishes to you and yours for the holidays. May 2026 be a good year for you. - Jim
