Your way with words will ne’er make me stop wanting, striving, hoping for a better world. To see what you would write of it.

Hah, I was aware (even politically) when the girl flowered the weapon. So this resonates anyway; but I like the language, the economy that lets us imagine. But I wonder - what is a codger? In English, it's a gentleman of advancing years who's a bit rough round the edges - but that's no symbol of character. Codger on it's own has no context so I suppose what's important is his imagined demeanor:) Nice verses

Thanks for reading, Alex! Yes, that is what I meant by “codger.” Vague as “crone” and “maiden” I suppose. I liked the alliteration it created as opposed to “old man.”

Thank you, I just wondered if transatlantically it underwent anything like ‘fag’ ‘hood’ etc:)

Incredible, Annie, how you move on with as much ease as you do, from an attempt at remembering to capturing the present moment.

Beautiful.

The ice plant melts when the photo leaves footprints behind the plumbago in bloom. So simplicity lifts the spirit from the pink flowers in barrels blast from the past withering away with news print ink blot. Flowers are one resource of hope for future times growth. Good writing.

I don't think times will change for the better, but at least they produce excellent poetry.
