(Non-fiction) "When I was served vegetarian lasagne that looked like a bowl of liquid Soylent Green and tasted like a warm unblended veggie smoothie, I was disappointed."
Lovely, that meal (and drinks) sounds divine. Well done on giving them another chance. I like the fact their menu is limited, I'm tired of places with overkill menus with pages and pages of dishes, your eyes star to blur and indecision kicks in.
I've had mixed success with restaurants which change menus and overhaul their image. Nice to see one of them do it right.
One question though - Grilled Lions Main for $30 seems pricey to me - it's...beans? Or am I missing something? (My choice would've been the buffalo chicken pizza - in Europe it's almost impossible to find half decent buffalo chicken so I naturally gravitate towards that, but here in Vienna there is some fantastic pizza)
I didn’t see the grilled lion’s mane, but I know lion’s mane is a fancy mushroom. Mushrooms are kind of a delicacy in this region. Their happy hour menu is very affordable $5 beer, $15 pizza. Thanks for reading!! I’ll have to try the buffalo pizza sometime.
Oh wow, I have close ties to Nevada City. Used to live there, my sisters still do. That tiramisu sounds incredible. Thanks for eating and writing about it Annie!
I'll put checking out the pizza on my list. Haven't been to Nevada City in years. Was there once on demolition of asbestos tiles on the roof of the old library mid 80's. And one other time checked the town out at Christmas, they go all out for Christmas.
Wonderful! I've only discovered it in the last few years. I went to the independent film festival there last summer and had a great time. I'll have to check it out sometime at Christmas!
…dang that pistachio misu looks epic…
Lovely! Nevada City is a great place. Glad you had a good meal.
Thanks Attasalina!
