Ah the fun of commuting! I can totally relate, haha. Those smells must have been really intense!
I've been a lifelong commuter and seeing that picture (especially with the Yellow line) I almost thought it was one of my stops! I've got a few commuter poems on my stack as well and it was good to see another one--and--as your husband observed--had a funny punchline. 👍
true imagist forces at play here, really great work annie
🙏🙏🙏 ty!!
excellent.
I do so enjoy poems that expand on the mundane moments of society, this was really great thank you for sharing!
Was there last week Annie and it was just like this. Great poem!
I feel this (twice, every day).
I used to live in a squat next to that Bart station, many fond memories of those days…
Not the BART, but I never thought I'd miss the piss soaked stench of the red line while coming back home from house parties in Chicago.
Thanks for making the nostalgia of mundane city commutes beckon me like a hot cartoon pie scent trail.
you had me at "ram ventilation"
Liked “blue light tail race” makes me think of BART
thanks Dan!
Pleasure is all mine.
I don't even know how many times I've ridden BART! Good poem! 😀
Thanks David!
